When you think about artistic photography, nerdy and dope becoming one, and two beautiful girls bringing their amazing and unique style together....you automatically think of #BOTHWORLDS!!!!! And I have the one time opportunity to interview them and have an idea of what really goes on in their heads.....Check it Out!
1. Where are you both from and how did you guys meet?
Kiara: Im from the south, by way of Memphis TN
Jhana: "Im from Sweden, but I’m Russian.. we met in LA while working together in retail, BCBG generation to be exact".
2. How Did BothWorlds came about?
Kiara: "We started working with each other both realized this love for art fashion & photo. We both have unique styles but we liked the same stuff we vibe on what art was and decided we wanted to do something together",
Jhana: "We were also doing two different things that worked together perfectly, photography and styling. And then its kinda cool to be a female duo doing that shit, trying to handle business and the creative simultaneously."
3. Where do you find inspiration for your amazing photo-shoots?
Jhana: "Everything we look at twice"
Kiara: "we could be walking down the street and see someone’s shoe laces and that will spark an idea, a whole concept. But music is probably the main inspiration
Jhana we always listen to music."
Jhana: "were also inspired by politics and everything that’s going on with our world, theres a lot of subliminal things going on and we are always paying attention and watching it."
Kiara: "yeah, one of our mottos is open your eyes.
4. When/ what was your turning point when you decided to take your art to the next level?"
Jhana: "May 2011, that’s when BothWorlds became official, we have been doing this for a while on our own, but we created bothworlds in may right before we quit our 9 to 5 at bcbg,"
Kiara: w"e were extremely dissatisfied with our work situation we felt like we worked too much for someone else, we wanted to create so we were like fuck it lets do this shit."
5. Which project has been your biggest one yet?
Kiara: "uuuggghhhh all of them, everything we do is big because of the opportunity itself, its always a blessing to be able to be apart of creating anything no matter who it is."
Jhana: "I really don’t know, Its not so much about the biggest artists or the biggest project, its more so about the creative process, its always fun, no matter who it is."
6. How important is medicinal weed for your art?
Jhana: "Very important. hahaha"
Kiara: "man oh man, my mom is gonna kill me.. its extremely important.. it stimulates the creative process, but not to say u cant be creative without it, some of us enjoy it some of us don’t but bothworlds is def pro mary, all the way."
Jhana: "Mary is my homegirl… hahaha she’s with me right now.."
7. What are three advises you would tell another photographer or stylist just breaking into this industry?
Jhana: "Photographers, just shoot, shoot shoot shoot.. that’s all u gotta do. Create ur own style so when people look at a picture they know who took it.. . never limit urself, always analyze ur work and always critique urself so u can get better.. , and network of course, oops that was a lot more than three.."
Kiara: "Besides having fashion knowledge u have to try and banquish all of ur fear because if ur scared of anything there is no way ur gonna be successful at all, its really hard but try ur hardest to be original, take ur inspiration and don’t mimic, and networking, the most effective way to learn is learning from others."
8. What is one of your biggest obstacles in this industry?
Kiara: "Being two young women and trying to be your own boss."
Jhana: "not being taken seriously because were girls is probably the biggest obstacle, guys are always tryna get with u and we just don’t have time for all that, In this industry girls have to work harder and more than u would think."

Kiara: "uuhhmm, do we have to pick one? I’d probably jumo out the window"
Jhana: "shit, I don’t even know, either A or B, Im pretty fast, I can go with A.."
2. If you ever was caught off guard ad fall in love with a guy within 4 days of knowing him what would you and why?
A. Tell him upfront how you feel
B. Get scared and back away a little
C. Find out how he feels first
Kiara: "get scared and back away, I don’t have time for that, its too scary, its too much right now im a puss when it comes to that stuff.."
Jhana: "I would probably not fall in love with anyone after 4 days but IF I did I would just neglect the whole situation so yeah B"
3. If your future husband had to have one big flaw, which one would you choose
A. Bad breath
B. Didn't cook or clean
C. Didn't like sex as much
Kiara: "didn’t cook and clean, hopefully hell be able to pay to get that done, bad breath is horrible and im not even gonna start talking about sex."
Jhana: "I agree and If he doesn’t have the cash to pay for that, I probably will! Haha"
4. Are you single if so why, being such a gorgeous gal and successful?
Jhana: "Im single because with emotions comes drama and I refuse to have that in my life, I don’t wanna explain myself to anyone either. I wanna be free until Im rich bitch! . BothWorlds is my boyfriend, besides everyone think that kiara and I are a couple anyway"
Kiara: "Im single because im not a relationship person and I don’t feel like ive reached enough success to have a boyfriend,."
5. If you was to describe your personality in a metaphorically way of a dessert what would it be and why?
Kiara : "strawberry short cake cause they’re cute and cause it’s a cake and cakes have layers.."
Jhana: "I would be a brownie because chocolate is good!"
